Jim Barbee, the owner, began his career in the disc jockey business in 1984 while in high school working for a highly popular DJ company in the Charlotte area. Upon entering collage, Jim began StreetWork Productions playing mostly high school and college parties. Developing the reputation of an experienced professional DJ, the demand for doing more formal events arose. In 1990, StreetWork began their Wedding Services Division of the company and has serviced hundreds of satisfied clients averaging 45-50 weddings a year!! After graduating from Pfeiffer University the business relocated to Statesville, NC then to Henderson-Oxford area playing various venues. Now located in the Triangle since 1993 and becoming incorporated in 2000, StreetWork has entertained hundreds of wedding receptions and other events in and around the state developing the now highly reputable wedding formats with personally scripted play lists. The scripted play list is more than the standard "timeline" that most DJ companies provide; the scripts reflect how the flow of the reception may occur by showing your chosen selections song for song for your review.
